This July 10th ,took place in Washington the fourth meeting between the authorities of the centers of applications and enforcement of the law of Cuba and the U.S. The meeting was the continuity of the former made on September 15th 2017.
The purpose of these exchanges is to coordinate the bilateral cooperation in matters of application and enforcement of the law and to go forward to face different obstacles which constitute a threat for the security of both countries like terrorism, the illegal drug and men traffic, the cybercrimes among others.
The meeting developed in a respect and professionalism ambiance. While checking the exchanges in the different security areas, the Cuban part referred to the concrete results of that bilateral cooperation, which enables the crime prevention and the processing of law violators. It was also specified the information and cooperation requests pendant to answers from the American side, to keep on marching in the frame of this mechanism.
The Cuban delegation urged the government of the U.S to desist from the continued political manipulation of the alleged cases of health which became a pretext for the adoption of unilateral new measures which affect the functioning of both embassies, particularly to offer consular services from which depend hundreds of thousand people.
After more than a year of investigations by the specialized agencies and experts of the U.S and Cuba, it is confirmed that there are no evidences nor credible hypothesis, nor conclusions linked to science which could justify the actions taken by the government of the U.S against Cuba opposed to the bilateral relations. The State Secretary himself affirmed on June 5th ¨that it has not been established the nature of the damages suffered by the affected staff, or whether it exists a common cause for all of the cases¨.
The Cuban delegation reaffirmed its non-variable commitment to cooperate with the authorities of the U.S to achieve the clearing of this situation. To guarantee the health and security of the Cuban people and the foreign citizens, has been, is and will be a Cuban government priority.
Both parts agreed to give continuance to this dialog and to keep on making technical meetings among the application agencies and law enforcement of both countries to materialize the bilateral cooperation.
The Cuban delegation was made by representatives of the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Justice, the General Prosecutor and the General Customs of the Republic. The U.S part was made by the representatives of the Internal Security departments, justice and State.
